Belcolade adds three new origin chocolates to its Collection range

Belcolade has extended its exclusive Collection range with three new and highly distinct origin chocolates from Uganda, Vanuatu and the Dominican Republic.

The Collection range, which includes origin and organic chocolates from around the world, denotes distinctiveness and extraordinary taste experiences - and the new Noir Uganda 80, Lait Vanuatu 44, and Blanc Domincan Republic 31 are no exception.

Each is made using carefully selected cocoa beans that reflect the differences of the regions where they are grown; differences that are shaped by local agricultural practices such as fermentation and drying techniques, as well as botanical, climatic and geological conditions.

                  Uganda

The high cocoa content of the rich Noir Collection Uganda 80 provides a supreme cocoa taste with hints of earthiness, mushrooms and a subtle smoky flavour. Exports of Ugandan cocoa beans have risen sharply over recent years as consumers have discovered the exciting taste of Africa.

                  Vanuatu

Lait Collection Vanuatu 44 is rich in character and delivers a strong but delightful cocoa flavour, with a hint of coffee and spice. Vanuatu is a nation of 83 islands in the South Pacific, and with over 100 distinct local cultures and languages, it is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world.

                   Dominican Republic

The Blanc Collection Dominican Republic 31 offers a lighter butter and milk flavour, with a hint of flowers and dried fruit. The Dominican Republic is the largest producer of cocoa beans in the Caribbean and this origin chocolate really is an outstanding addition to the Collection range.


To identify these and other chocolates that excel in such specificity and uniqueness, Belcolade uses its "Cyrano Approach". Based on sensory analysis of the flavour components present in chocolate, the Cyrano approach enables Belcolade to select the most distinct varieties for the Collection range, so that customers can create unique products that deliver truly extraordinary taste experiences.

The Collection range also includes chocolates from Costa Rica, Ecuador, Papua New Guinea, Peru, and Venezuela, some of which are made using cocoas sourced from a Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farm, or which have Fairtrade approval.
