2nd Edition of Choco-Laté (6-10th of April 2007)
Oud St-Jans Hospital, Bruges
2 March 2007
The first Choco-Laté event in 2006, the Bruges Chocolate Festival, proved to be an unexpected success, where as many as 14,000 national and international chocolate lovers visited Belgium’s first chocolate event. Over 72 exhibitors and performers transformed the Oud Sint Jan’s Hospital in Bruges into an Eldorado for chocolate fans….and it was back again this year!!
Choco-Laté is all about tasting, experiencing and discovering……Tasting amazing chocolates, sophisticated chocolate dishes and sweet chocolate drinks. Experiencing countless workshops and demonstrations, open-mouthed, watching artists shaping the most creative designs. Discovering new flavours and aromas that you didn't know existed, including wellness treatments and a whole host of imaginative applications.
From Friday 6th until Tuesday 10th April (inclusive), Choco-Laté covered once again the historic centre of Bruges in a delicious layer of chocolate.
Oud Sint Jan's Hospital was the base for the Chocolate Festival, where dozens of exhibitors, including Belcolade, tempted visitors with pure chocolate, tablet shaped confectionery and pralines, drinks and entertainment. In the exhibition halls, the chocolate fans were swept away by demonstrations and workshops, displays and a creativity competition. In the Choco Kids Village, children could enjoy themselves to their heart's content.
The Choco-Story chocolate museum, which was recently extended with a large new exhibition hall, remained a must for the true chocolate fan.
In addition, ten top Bruges restaurants were experimenting again this winter with striking, sophisticated chocolate dishes. Choco-Laté has put Bruges on the world map as the chocolate capital and the city is doing its very best to maintain this elevated status, offering chocolate trails, weekends and wellness packages.
Choco-Laté, the Bruges Chocolate Festival, was preceded by the Chocolate Symposium, which took place on 2nd March in the Concertgebouw, the Bruges concert hall.
Belcolade was proud to be main sponsor of his event. Our booth, in the Strauss room, was the center of top chocolate demonstrations again and an exclusive opportunity for visitors to participate in a new experience of tasting the marriage between chocolate and wine.
